Stayed one night en route home after solar eclipse. Friendly office staff. Pretty pool area. Clean grounds. Not hard to get too. Seemed to be near lots of lake related activities. Seemed on the small side.
I really wanted to go higher on the rating but compared to other campgrounds I hard to downgrade the stars. We've been to a number of camp grounds in KY and OH; some of which are KOA's. This KOA campground has been around a while and is in need of general upgrades and improvements. I'd also recommend some creative oversight; starting with eliminating the game room and Putt-Putt altogether. Then, infusing activities and ideas found in newer campgrounds. In the end, the campground was close to the lake and everyone there seemed to enjoy themselves; including our family.
Nice quiet place. Grounds and facilities are well kept. Sites are gravel and a little unlevel but manageable. Lake access is only about a mile away.
KOA in Russell Springs was so nice. It was clean and very peaceful. I would definitely recommend this camp site to anyone who would like to come out this way. The cabins were clean, and they had air conditioners which was super nice.
Just spent 3 nights here and hated to leave. Campground is very well kept. Lots of trees and landscaping. Everything nice and clean, nice pool. Lots of nice walking, family atmosphere, yet quiet and peaceful. Staff are so nice and make you feel welcome. Can't wait to come back.
